Minister of Taxation of Denmark Karsten Lauritzen visited Carlsberg Azerbaijan

On February 17^th a delegation of Danish officials headed by Danish Minister of Taxation Mr. Karsten Lauritzen and accompanied by Honorary Consul of Denmark in Baku Mr. Arnoud Govaert and Mr. Svend Olling, Ambassador of Denmark in Turkey visited Carlsberg Azerbaijan brewery in the framework of an official visit to Baku to  aimed to sign an economic treaty.

Guests were met by Carlsberg Azerbaijan CFO Thomas Wolke and Chief Brewer Vugar Ahmedov, who organized a brewery tour for the group. During the visit, the group discussed the situation in beer industry, the outlook of Carlsberg business in Azerbaijan and Danish companies in general. After that, the visit was continued with tasting of local beers, including an opportunity to try out a newly developed beer, which is still not on the market.

Thomas Wolke, CFO of Carlsberg Azerbaijan: “We are happy to host guests of such a high level at our brewery, especially in this, for the company, important period; this week the company was renamed to Carlsberg Azerbaijan. This further integration into Carlsberg Group marks a new beginning for the brewery and shows the ambition to develop our business in Azerbaijan in a long-term prospective”.

Honorary Consul of Denmark in Baku Mr. Arnoud Govaert: “All of the Danish delegation members really enjoyed the tour of the Carlsberg Azerbaijan brewery and the explanations by the Master brewer regarding the process. It is very impressive to hear that Carlsberg managed to build up a very significant market share in Azerbaijan and its brands are household names in the country”.
